About me

I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health. I started my career

volunteering within forensic services before working within the NHS and the private sector helping and supporting those detained in psychiatric units. I then trained as a Low Intensity Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner before developing and training as a High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.

I value building genuine connections and supporting people to make changes. I offer a compassion focused empathetic ear to help you make sense of what might feel like a confusing and hopeless time of your life.

CBT Sessions

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. We look at your thoughts, your behaviours and your emotional and physical symptoms and how all of these areas are maintained creating a vicious cycle you feel stuck within. We will then identify areas we can make changes.

Assessment Phase

Initially, I will gather information from yourself about what has brought you to therapy. Together we will explore the impact that your difficulties are having on your life and complete some health questionnaires to get a better understanding of your symptoms. We will also look at past events and significant life experiences to explore how these may be impacting on your in the here and now. The assessment phase typically takes 2 sessions before we move onto conceptualisation of your problem.

Therapy Goals

Coming to therapy can be difficult and sometimes overwhelming so it can be helpful to have a think about what you would like to work towards, and this also ensure I can support you in getting there. We will spend some time looking at your therapy goals, and identify personalised targets that together we can work towards you achieving.

Therapy goals tend to be about the parts of your life that you would like to see change at the end of therapy. Imagine you feel better, what does that look like? What is different and what would you be doing differently?
